About Me

Hi! Thanks for stopping by.

My name is Jordan Nettleship, a writing coach and sorority consultant located in Dallas! I love with my husband and two kids, Ryder and Sutton, and our dog, Porsche.

I was born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1990. When I was four, my family moved to Plano, TX where I was raised alongside my three sisters and taught the important values of faith, family, hard work, and kindness. It was also during this time that I discovered my love for writing and my passion for helping students improve their literary skills.

In 2008, I moved to Tempe, Arizona and attended the WP Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude a semester early in 2011. It was during this time that I met my future husband, Ryan Nettleship, and in 2015, we were married at Vizcaya Museum in Miami, FL. In 2018, our incredibly sweet son, Ryder Woods Nettleship, was born, named after my husband’s hero, Tiger Woods. Then, in 2022, we added our sweet angel girl, Sutton James Nettleship, to our tribe.

After graduating college, I published my first novel and immediately jumped into a writing coaching and editing role at a successful college consulting firm in the DFW area, with whom I still work. I owe Peggy Amdur of College Choices a debt of gratitude for introducing me to the business and teaching me everything I know. Having worked with Peggy for 10+ years now, I have studied under one of the best college consultants in the country and enjoy the opportunity to share this knowledge with all of my clients. If any of my clients are interested in a college consultant, I immediately direct them to Peggy without hesitation; she is the best in the business.

Because I have been in the business for over a decade, I understand what colleges are looking for when it comes to admissions essays, and that’s where my specialty lies. However, a large chunk of my work is with high school students, helping them perfect their written voice and grammar skills, and with recent college graduates, organizing and reworking their resumes—and even drafting their first cover letters!

In 2015, I decided to increase the workload I was taking on for sorority packets and learn everything I could about the recruitment process, extending my services to include recruitment workshops and preparation. Having gone through the process myself, pledging Theta at ASU, I understand the questions and concerns students face when heading into rush, and how confusing those “virtual packets” can be. I now spend most of my spring working with seniors on their rush packets, walking through rush preparation and holding rush workshops. During rush workshops, I also provide students with first-hand knowledge from graduated sorority members and experts in Greek life.

My goal is always to meet students where they are at and help them find confidence in their abilities, whether writing a fictionalized story or preparing for an unfamiliar social event like recruitment. I truly love my work. I hope that together, we can uncover that same passion for you.
